Björn Schwarten

Björn Schwarten worked in the areas of risk management and structured finance in banking for about 10 years after completing his studies in business administration. Bringing along the knowledge he acquired in those years, Björn joined VTG in May of 2015, an internationally active railcar rental and rail logistics company with about 88.500 railroad freight cars. In the beginning Björn was active in the department of financing & treasury, where he was part of successfully completing several extensive cases of financing and hedging strategies. In 2019 he was given the role as head of the corporate controlling department, before taking over the group finance department and therefore also the responsibility for group controlling and group accounting 2 years later. It is Björn Schwarten’s concern and goal to “demystify” finance. Numbers should be accessible and transparent to therefore make a positive contribution towards business management and success. Digitalization can obviously not only be a keyword for this transformation, because in isolation it is no panacea. Digitalization is much more a tool, which can only be brought to success through the people behind it.
